We specialize in breeding French Bulldogs. They are our only breed.
We are crossing our fingers for a litter to arrive January 26-31st. We should know for sure by the first week of January. Contact us to be put on the reservation list for one of these puppies!
Yes, all of our puppies are up to date on their vaccinations.
No, our breeding dogs, and therefore puppies, are not registered with any clubs and here is why. Kennel or breed clubs have minimal supervision. You can register up to 6 litters with them. That's 3 more times than we would EVER breed our females especially since French Bulldogs typically have c-sections to birth their pups. Also, there are no health guidelines. Did your Frenchie need surgery to correct an elongated palette or shave cartilage for stenotic nares? As members of a kennel or breed club you can still breed that Frenchie and pass along those qualities to the puppies without being required to notify the buyers.
Unless you are planning to show your dog there is no reason to pay the fee and support these clubs that have no consideration for the dogs' health. Our dogs are for pets/companions not for show. Though one of our pups is now an Emotional Support Animal and our stud, Winchester is a Service Dog, usually they are just going to be loving and loved members of a family.
With future litters we are planning to use genetic health testing kits so our buyers are assured of breed as well as testing for 250+ genetic health concerns. We find this to be far more useful and reassuring than joining a club.
Here are a few products we recommend for the safety and happiness of your pup and family.
1) Car seat or seat belt restraint: Not only is it the law in many states that dogs be restrained in a moving vehicle it's for their safety. Seat belts are the law for people, why not for dogs as well? We will be requiring a restraint system for all puppies leaving our care in the future. Please remember: you may avoid an accident by slamming on the brakes but that won't avoid injury or death to your dog if they are not restrained. After all, we live in Maine. Ever barely missed hitting a deer by slamming the brakes suddenly? Think of what that does to an unsuspecting pup sitting next to you in the front seat.
2) Life jacket: French Bulldogs are chonky. They don't float. Even if they love swimming it is hard to keep their short snouts above water and they tire easily. Help them enjoy the water by fitting them for a dog life jacket. The ones with shark fins have the bonus of being adorable and photo worthy.
3) Tick collar: Frenchies can have skin problems so we try to avoid most monthly topical treatments. If your Frenchie cannot tolerate a collar either we suggest a monthly chewable flea and tick repellent. Again, this is for the health of your dog. Doing this can help you avoid costly vet bills and suffering of your dog from tick borne illnesses such as Lyme disease.
4) Cooling mats/towels and collapsible water bowls: Their short snouts are an endearing Frenchie quality. However, while cute, they hinder your dog's ability to regulate their temperature through panting. Having a collapsible dish makes it easy for your dog to drink plenty of water no matter where they are. Having a cooling mat or towel helps to cool their body down on summer adventures when you're away from the comfort of air conditioning.
5) Harness: as opposed to a collar for walking or restraining them in the car. Frenchies have delicate airways, even our pups do despite breeding the best possible qualities into our line. Avoid damage to their trachea by using a harness that helps disperse the pressure through their strong bulldog chest and shoulders rather than their neck.
6) ByteTag: please see our page devoted to the explanation of ByteTags. We are ambassadors so if you decide to purchase one use our code for a discount!
7) Adorable hoodies and jackets: no, really. Frenchies can have trouble keeping warm in colder temperatures despite their potato like physique. Keep them warm and dry outside by dressing them in weather appropriate attire. And take plenty of pics because nothing is cuter than a Frenchie wearing an ear warmer!
